Cafe World Levels
From LoveToKnow SocialNetworking
Café World levels, like those in other social networking games, are an indication of your experience and status in the game that bears its name.
What Is Café World?
Zynga, the game network that created FarmVille also created Café World. This culinary game allows wannabe real-life chefs to compete in a virtual restaurant universe. Virtual cooks decorate their restaurants, hire employees, develop new recipes and serve food.
Getting Started in Café World
You need to have a Facebook identity to play Café World. Typing “Café World” is the easiest way to find the application. This will take you to the Café World page. The “Go to Application” link is on the left side of the page. Click on the link and it will bring you to the permissions page, which warns you that enabling Café World Access lets it pull information from your profile.
After clicking on “accept,” Chef Amelia, Café World’s virtual guide, will welcome you to the application and give you some basic information, such as hiring employees and creating recipes. Creating an avatar is your next step. You can select male or female. As you gain more coins, you can customize your avatar's clothing.
Entry level chefs are given are certain amount of coins for purchasing ingredients, hiring staff and decorating their restaurants. You are rewarded with bonus coins by accumulating Café points, which enable you to advance to higher Café World levels. Café points are earned by adding new ingredients to your recipes, cleaning your virtual stove or appliances, or visiting your neighbor's restaurant. The following items are given to new players:
- 7,600 Coins: Coins are the currency of Café World.
- Five Dollars of café cash: cafe cash is interesting, because it is unique to Café World. You do not earn additional cafe cash by moving to higher Café World levels. You can purchase cafe cash with real cash, by using your credit card or Paypal. Five dollars buys you 25 café cash dollars, which can be used to expand your restaurant without using your cafe coins.
- Buzz Rating of 5.0: Your Buzz Rating is like a Zagat Guide or Michelin Star restaurant rating. It is determined by the number of visitors to your virtual restaurant, and their satisfaction with the food and service.
- Three Stoves: Your virtual dishes are cooked on your virtual stoves. As you move to higher levels, you can purchase additional stoves.
- Three Counters: Virtual counters, as in real life, are the place where cooked dishes are placed. Needless to say, additional counters improve restaurant efficiency. Moving to a higher level gives you coins to purchase additional counters.
- Three Employees: Employees are the waiters, selected from your Facebook friends, which serve your customers.
Café World Levels
As of January 2010, there are more than 60 levels, which may explain why people get addicted to the game. Reaching higher levels enables you to buy additional items, hire more employees, purchase additional ingredients, cook new dishes and gift specific items. Each level has a name, and some of them are rather humorous. At Level 10, you are the Lord of Linguini. Move to Level 11, and you become the Magnate of Meatballs. Those who have reached Level 18 are granted the honor of being considered Munchy Monarchs and those at Level 27 are Royal Boilers. When you move to Level 37, you become an Appetizer Imperator and Level 38 honors you with the distinction of being a Mashing Majesty.
Level changes are determined by how many points you have accumulated. For example, you need to earn 34 additional café points to go from level one, Open For Business, to level two, Sultan of Stoves.
