Customize MySpace Top Friends
From LoveToKnow SocialNetworking
MySpace allows you to have an unlimited number of friends on a list; this is why it is essential to know exactly how to customize MySpace top friends. MySpace is a great way to get in touch with old friends and make new ones. You never truly realize how many people you have until you search for everyone you know and end up finding many acquaintances you forgot about.
Deciding on Who to Choose
If you have a lot of friends on MySpace, you will have to determine who exactly you want as your "list. These are the individuals who everyone sees when they visit your profile. You can choose to display anywhere from eight to 40 friends.
No matter how many you decide to show on your page, you will have to decide who will make that list. Some people choose their family first and then their closest friends. Others will pick the most important person in their life whether a buddy or family member and then level of importance from there. You could also just choose people at random.
Another option, especially if you can't decide, is to choose the "randomization" option on the customizing page. This option will change your display randomly every time your page refreshes. This means that every time someone visits your page your top people will be different.
The Benefits
Having a list of your most popular means that others will know who you favor the most. It's a way for the person to know that you consider them a valuable person in your life. Many might not admit it but it does make a loved one feel good that you have chosen him or her to be high on your list.
Another benefit of this selection is that it keeps the people you like visiting often. Instead of searching through all of the people on your page every time you want to see their space, you can find the ones you want quickly. This way you can continue to keep up on their life as much as they can on your's.
How to Customize MySpace Top Friends
Here is how you can customize MySpace top friends in your profile.
- Log in to your account.
- Click on "Change my Top Friends" link. This is located on the bottom of your MySpace dashboard.
- Click on the person you would like to place first and drag that person to the top. Drop the person to the front of your list.
- Repeat step number three for every person until you have the total number of people you want.
If you want to rearrange people, you can click on the person and drag them out or place them in front of someone else. When you click the last person and place them outside of the list, you will see the next person will take his or her place. If you don't want that person as your last you can take the person you do want and place him or her in that space.
Beware of Sensitive People
Some people take the assignment of first and second place in your list as an offense if not chosen. So don't be surprised if you receive a message from a loved one asking why you moved him or her or just didn't place them as first. In extreme cases, a person may decide to stop talking to you because of your choice. You can usually tell if someone is offended and upset if he or she deletes you from his or her list or you suddenly end up at the bottom.
To handle this situation, you can send a message explaining that you didn't mean anything by your choice. You can say that it has nothing to do with how you feel about or value him or her. If you choose, you can change your arrangement so the sensitive person moves up a few spaces.
