EBuddy Proxy

From LoveToKnow SocialNetworking

eBuddy Proxy allows users to visit any site without leaving a trace.

Using a Proxy

A proxy acts as an intermediary when you visit a website. With web-based proxies like eBuddy Proxy, you type in a URL and instead of your computer directly accessing the page, the proxy contacts it through its servers. There are two main reasons computer users turn to these services – maintaining privacy and accessing blocked sites. Your computer's IP address can reveal information such as your location and how often you visit a particular website.

With eBuddy and similar programs, your IP address is masked because your computer isn't directly communicating with the site's host. A proxy can also help you access sites that are blocked at work or at school. For instance, if the local network is set up to block Facebook or MySpace, you can still visit your favorite social networking destination by typing its address into a site like eBuddy.

Proxy Cautions

When you surf the web through a proxy, it's possible for the owner of the service to access any information you input while visiting sites. This includes usernames, passwords, credit card numbers, and any other sensitive information you may send across the Internet. Although these services can be convenient, use common sense to avoid hacked accounts.

Using eBuddy Proxy

Just visit the eBuddy site, and type a URL in the box. Click the begin button, and you're on your way to anonymous surfing. You can also choose from several options, including the ability to remove cookies, scripts, and advertising.

Other Options

In addition to eBuddy Proxy, there are numerous other web-based proxies. Proxy.org offers a large list of options such as Proxify and PseudoSurfer. Login Freedom is just one of the many possibilities for logging in to MySpace and Facebook. Because proxy websites are constantly appearing and disappearing, doing a basic search is the best way to find the latest options.
