How Do I Decorate MySpace?
From LoveToKnow SocialNetworking
If you recently signed up as a member of MySpace, you may find yourself asking, "How Do I Decorate MySpace?" Most people prefer to change the default white background and black text when you first create your profile, because one of the most fun parts of being a member is creating a page that portrays who you are, what is important to you, and what you believe in. You might feel a bit intimidated when you first start looking at the different options for your MySpace page, but it's a lot easier than you might think to decorate it exactly how you like it.
How Do I Decorate MySpace: The Basics
Sign into your MySpace account with your username and password. You will see your dashboard, which is the place where you can quickly see what your friends have been doing, any birthdays coming up, new updates to your friends' page and any bulletins sent from your friends. At the top of the dashboard, you will see a blue menu bar with the following options: Home, Mail, Profile, Friends, Music, Videos, and More. To start decorating your MySpace page, run your selection arrow over the Profile drop down menu and then click on Edit Profile.
This is where you can start adding HTML codes into sections to create your page. HTML is easy to learn if you would like to create something from scratch. However, if you don't have the time or the patience, there are many HTML codes on the Internet you can use. You can find HTML codes for backgrounds, fonts, comment boxes and just about anything else you want to change from the default. You can place these codes in any of the following boxes available on the Edit Profile page: About Me, I'd Like to Meet, General, Music, Movies, Television, Books, and Heroes.

Adding Pictures to Your MySpace Page
One of the things you may want to do is add some of your own pictures to your profile page by storing your pictures in the My Photos section so that your friends can see them.
Creating Your Profile Albums
Scroll over the Profile drop down menu on the blue menu bar and click on My Photos. At the top of the next screen, you will see Upload Photos in red, click on this. You will see a tool for you to use to upload all of your pictures. Once you upload them, you can create categories and assign the pictures to separate categories.
Placing Photos on Your Main Page
Go back to the My Photos main page, and you will see your albums and photos. Find the picture(s) that you would like to place on your profile main page. Click on the picture, and you will see a larger view of it and two codes in a box to the right of it. One is a photo URL, which is the address you can give people to go directly to that picture. The other one is the photo code, which is what you need to place it on your main profile page. Copy this code and then return to your Edit Profile page by scrolling over Profile and clicking Edit Profile.
Decide where you would like the picture to appear and place the code by pasting it in one of the following sections: About Me, I'd Like to Meet, General, Music, Movies, Television, Books, and Heroes. Preview your page to see if the photo ended up where you wanted it.
Posting Videos on Your MySpace Page
To post home videos on your MySpace Page, upload the video to a photo and video sharing website like [www.photobucket.com Photobucket]. After uploading the video, the website will give you a code to use on MySpace and on other Internet communities. Copy this code and enter it into one of the sections as you did for your photos.
Other Ideas for Your MySpace Page
There are other things you can add to your page to personalize it.
