Simple MySpace Background
From LoveToKnow SocialNetworking
MySpace backgrounds can sometimes get so busy you can barely read the text; simple MySpace backgrounds are surprisingly refreshing in a sea of dancing polka dots, movie posters and graffiti.
Present Yourself
Your MySpace page is about you. The spotlight should be on you, so a simple MySpace background will complement your attributes without overwhelming the page or your message. You want people to get to know you and think you are special—not your background.
Are you an art enthusiast? Choose a canvas for your text and pictures that adds splashes of color, or find a simple creation from your favorite artist.
Love nature? There are animal print, greenery, floral and aquatic designs that will enhance rather than detract from your page.
Consume pie like you may never have the opportunity to eat pie again? Hey, people have odd loves, but no matter what it is you most enjoy, there's a simple MySpace layout for you to rejoice in it. Fill your MySpace plate with a background that shows off enticing red cherries, for example, if you can't find a giant pie.
Whatever your life is about, whatever you want reflected in your page, you can find something simple to symbolize your love for the activity or object you have in mind. If you can't think of anything you'd like to make a statement, you can just put your text on top of a blanket of your favorite color.
The good news is, finding a MySpace background isn't like choosing a tattoo. Yes, it will be symbolic and say something about you to the rest of the world, but it's not permanent. It's easy to go in and alter your background as often as every day if you'd like.
Find Your Simple MySpace Background
While it is possible to make your own, finding a simple MySpace background online is more time efficient. You don't have to learn any code to borrow one that someone else has designed, and there's such a plethora of pre-designed backgrounds out there, there's no reason to teach yourself HTML just so you can have the background you want on your page. Here are a few sites you can get your next background from:
- Pure Layouts offers not only backgrounds, but layouts for your entire page. So if you want a purple background, your text won't get lost. For example, the background will allow white areas for your text to go. You can browse by color, by pattern, or by theme.
- Space Gravy allows you to choose from polka dots, swirls, and more.
- MySpace Fun Stuff has layouts organized by category (even backgrounds that revolve around famous quotes, which is fairly unique). If you get especially ambitious, you can check out their network banners, graphics, and more.
- Free Code Source also has a nice selection of simple backgrounds from which to choose. Also, if you do decide to dabble in designing your own, you can submit them here to share with others.
Here's how to use them: Each background has a code attached. Generally, it's under the design you've chosen. Highlight that code, right click, and copy it. Then go into your own MySpace account and edit your profile to add the code to the "About Me" section. Save all the changes and click on "Preview Profile." That will show you how your page will look to everyone else if you choose to keep that background. Hey, it's easier than painting your room but you're still getting to update your "space."
It's All About You
Your page is about you, not the background, so your simple background will do just the trick to highlight who you are. People are always evolving. When you change, you can change your background to demonstrate your personal growth, new hobbies, or new place in life. Or you could just take that opportunity to announce your new favorite color to the network.
